The Baywood Lighted Boat Parade is free and open to boaters/floaters and folks who’d like to come watch and enjoy.
Since it’s a community gathering/meet-up, everyone is responsible for making safe choices and participating at their own risk.
There are just a few simple rules:
Embrace the spirit of kindness and community
Take care of yourself and each other - on the beach and on the water
Whatever you bring with you (large or small), please bring it back home with you.
Light up your kayak, canoe, sailboat SUP, or other small boat and light up the Baywood waterfront as you compete for some amazing prizes...
Live music on the pier: ANNOUNCEMENT COMING SOON!
Tide info:
High tide: 5.9’ at 7:20 PM
Low tide: -0.5’ at 2:55 AM
What does this mean? Well, you’ll be able to launch & navigate your kayak, canoe, SUP, etc. all day! For bigger boats, depending on your draft, you should be able to get in and out by mid afternoon and -
EVERYONE should be off the water by 11:00 PM if you don’t want to get stuck on the mud as the tide goes out.
LOADING IN & OUT: We’ll have a loading zone open by the Baywood Pier. Please be as efficient as possible in loading in and out - we’re expecting LOTS of boats. You can also help by boating over from Cuesta Inlet, Pasadena Point, State Park Marina, etc.

Who will be the most creative?
We will be awarding some very nice trophies, fresh from Emrick Studios. These highly coveted sea glass awards by glass artist Ted Emrick celebrating 40 year creating art and working for the community of Baywood Park. Since 1986, Ted has made his life as an artist in Baywood, while also supporting the community through coaching, teaching at Cal Poly & Cuesta, hosting the production of Gumby’s last films, and co-producing some of Baywood’s best art & community events like ClimateFest.
