We’ve assembled some other bands to consider for the last date. Below you’ll find a synopsis and video for each band, and then a form for you to give your input. Please fill out the survey ASAP so I’ll have some direction on booking the last date:
dante marsh & the vibesetters
These guys definitely deliver and appeal to a wide audience. Professional presentation, engaging, and on top of the local market for the past couple of years now.
brass mash
A fun, highly professional brass band mashing up pop, rock, and funk tunes. Popular and engaging. The only play 1-2 ices per month, so market over saturation is not an issue.
Resination
These guys have been in business playing reggae music in SLO County for 20+ years, and have a strong following. They also only play a handful of shows each year, so likely they would be a strong draw. Don’t expect much co-promotion - they rely on their following & don’t do much to promote.
Route 66
Bio:
We are "Route 66" a classic Rock and Roll Band located on the Central California Coast. Our play list goes from Elvis to Van Morrison, to the Eagles to Creedence, to the Beatles to the Stones and more! Available for private parties, weddings and your special events.
B & the Hive
Note: Last time I spoke with Josh, they weren’t playing live shows. I could inquire again if interested.
Led by the stunning vocals of Brianna Lee, B & The Hive create music straight from the heart, and serve it up with an intensity that is undeniable. Whether belting out a guitar driven anthem, or singing a hauntingly beautiful ballad, the sound remains the same - engaging.
Lead vocalist, Brianna Lee, displays mesmerizing depth in each heartfelt ballad and airy rock tune. - The Bay Bridged, San Francisco
Dreamy. Steamy. Sultry. - Show Bams, Los Angeles
Be prepared to get goosebumps! - KC Turner Presents, San Francisco
B & the Hive’s blend of quintessential rock n’ roll, pop and soul sounds comes together effortlessly, while still managing to defy simple classification and creating a wholly distinctive genre of their own. - SLO Life Magazine, San Luis Obsipo
Carbon City Lights
Carbon City Lights is a groovy alternative rock band based in San Luis Obispo. Their sound blends folk, pop and rock with some funk, and even a little country twang. The band’s live performances are fun and energetic, and feature extended jams with tight rhythm and dueling guitars. Carbon City Lights started as a solo project by singer-songwriter, Michael Venia, in 2010 in Toronto, and morphed into a full band in 2018 with Central Coast locals Bret Heenan (lead guitar), Dan Hernandez (bass), and Gerald Purify (drums). Listeners will appreciate the authenticity that comes from Venia’s lyrics and shines through in his powerful vocals. Their music rings with influences of Dave Matthews Band, Pearl Jam, and Coldplay.
Singer-songwriter, Michael, picked up the guitar while growing up in Saudi Arabia listening to Rick Dees Top 40 international radio hits. As a teen, he was interviewed by CNN's Chief International Correspondent, Christiane Amanpour for a piece on Western music in the Middle East. After leaving Saudi Arabia, Michael gained traction in the music scene in Toronto, Canada while going to recording arts school and performing original music. As an audio engineer, he's produced his music independently and is now sharing his sound with the full band on the Central Coast.
Monte Mills & the Lucky Horseshoe band
Monte Mills has become an icon of the California Central Coast. Monte's not only one of the last of the yodeling cowboys... He's the best! A Farrier and auctioneer by trade, he's the real deal. But he's more than just a singing cowboy. He's part of life around these parts. He's been instrumental in keeping traditional western swing country music alive introducing it to thousands of Cal Poly students and Central Coast residents each year. Saturday night "Aggie Stomps" attract masses of swing dancers, new and old to experience this infectiously fun music that has become an energizing ingredient of the Cal Poly / Central Coast experience.
True Zion
Another local reggae band. These guys are younger & hungrier than Resination, but don’t have as strong a following (yet?).
The Charities
These guys are really good, are highly presentable, know how to run a show, and have a following. I produced a livestream set for Live Oak Festival with them & it was really good.
