DEBRA WINDSONG

Harmonica, percussion and vocals for a variety of music styles- blues, rock, Americana, folk, jazz, rockabilly. Booking duos with several different singer-songwriters/guitarists to suit your needs.

Debra Windsong~ Harmonica player and vocalist. Percussion with various shakers and percussion pedals.

I am playing locally lately, in my hometown area of San Luis Obispo, CA, mostly with these great players:

Tim Jackson-  www.timjackson.net

Ted Waterhouse- www.tedwaterhouse.com

….and I love to sit in and meet new songwriters at our local Songwriters at Play showcases, run by Steve Key.

In the past: I sat in many times with my friend, now in spirit, Al Shival Redwine. With his band, the Shival Experience, I played percussion and harmonica- reggae-rock style. He was a  great player. We still talk…..

Starting in 2008 I spent five years with The Dave Miller Band, blues/rock. Played hard, learned a lot. Dave is an amazing player. We still do duos occasionally, when we can meet up.

I spent about ten years gigging weekly in a duo/ 4piece with Ted Waterhouse, a great songwriter and finger-picking player. www.tedwaterhouse.com

I had a band with Luis Oliart from L.A. for a couple of years- check him out!

And I gigged for awhile in the S.F. bay area with Hassan El-Tayyab- very talented guy! He spends a lot of his time now, fighting the good fight in the political arena.

OVER THE YEARS I HAVE BEEN INVITED TO SIT IN WITH SOME WELL-KNOWNS:

In the 1990’s with the late Bo Diddley and sometime after that with Eric Burden (The Animals) and Robby Krieger (The Doors) when they briefly had a band together.

I also sat in with Michael Franti in 2014. He’s doing some great work by spreading love through music. It moved me to connect with him and his guys briefly (thank you Carl Young, bass player for Michael Franti and Spearhead).
