  • Easy monetization through SLO House Party, with full reports on donations and payouts within 2 days via PayPal or Venmo.

So How does this work?

As you may have noticed, everyone is just about broke these days. No one is paying for online concerts, BUT - We’re finding that if given a high quality online performance, people are fairly generous in giving donations. So -

1) The Money

This is a high level production, so there are lots of folks needing to be taken care of. SLO House Party concerts are set up so there’s a shared split of the donations. Luckily, you get Paul Irving moderating the chat & sharing the heck out of it to maximize donations. Each performance may be a little different based on what you’re bringing to the table. Typically, we split it like this:

• 60% - The band
• 20% to SLO House Party, including the marketing, moderated chat, and providing professional stream operators
• 20% to the studio and / or audio engineer
• 10% for a pro videographer (reduces the band to 50%)

In some cases, a band could provide their own studio, audio, and video and get cut in at 80%. This would mean that you need a visually appealing performance space, high quality video (no cell phones, etc.), high quality mixed audio coming through an audio interface, and some basic knowledge of getting the stream to us.

In other cases, bands have foregone all their earnings to have some post production work done for audio / video mixing to wine up with some great marketing pieces.

2) The Gigs

Big Big SLO is booking some of these, and others are booked by sponsoring venues. They all use the same formula, and you can expect 60% of donations, unless we bring in a pro videographer for 10% less.

We may not be able to get in immediately, and may not be able to place you on one of these stages, as dates are limited and demand is high. We will do our best and keep a waiting list going as well.

We do have a selection committee to review all submissions and decide on the lineups. The info you submit here will help the committee find the best bands for the series. They will be looking for:

  • A variety of musical styles. Some will be for upbeat, high energy music, and others will be well suited for listening music.

  • Videos showing large crowds having fun with your music

  • Professional web presence

  • Significant social media following & fan engagement (this is more important than ever now that we’re all online!)
