Hi, my name is Edie Irving and I am Big Big SLO’s Theatre Editor as well as an actress, the MBHS Theatre Arts president, and a massive theatre nerd. Theatregoers finding local productions with ease is a necessity for local theatre to thrive and it became apparent that there wasn’t a spot online where theatrical events happening in San Luis Obispo County were all compiled. With this blog, it is going to be easier than ever to enjoy local arts, purchase tickets, and get the scoop on what’s happening in the local theatre world! I will be covering everything from San Luis County’s stellar high school performing arts, to wonderful local favorites like PCPA, SLO REP, and The Great American Melodrama, to Broadway touring companies that come through the Cal Poly Performing Arts Center. Theatre is beautiful, it can be powerful, insightful, and funny and I can’t wait to help local plays, musicals, dance shows, ballets, operas, etc. reach a wider audience and for theatre to continue to change lives as it has changed mine.
